Official bike of Director Steve Bauer’s Planet Energy Pro Cycling Team
With the new generation of Gallium bikes, Argon 18 has taken its design philosophy a few steps farther. Built in the same mold used to shape the new Gallium, the Gallium Pro benefits from the same technological innovations, but its carbon composite makes it not only stiffer but also approximately 6% lighter than its predecessor.

Argon 18 Ga 31 Pro fork
o Built around a 1’’1/4 headset, the new Ga 31 Pro fork is designed to enhance the Gallium Pro’s characteristics; vertical compliance has been tweaked in order to ensure maximum comfort at any speed .
o While it only weighs 356 grams, this fork is laterally very rigid, which translates to clean, accurate steering, even at high speed .

New monocoque frame with larger, load-specific tube shapes
o The HDS principle, updated: compared to the 2008 Gallium, the Gallium Pro is on average 20% more rigid in the bottom bracket area and in the lower frame sections generally.
o Weighing only 940 grams in medium size, the Gallium Pro is 6% lighter than the 2008 version, yet exhibits the tight handling and efficiency typical of Argon 18 bikes.
o By revising every tube shape and refining the carbon composite, we have improved vertical compliance, further improving comfort at all speeds.

3D Headtube: three headtube dimensions per frame size
o An innovation in tune with modern molded frame building techniques, the 3D Headtube is available on the Gallium and Gallium Pro models only. The 3D Headtube is patent pending.
o Lets retailers offer three effective headtube heights for every frame size, to suit riders who prefer a more upright position, without compromising the other fit parameters.
o 3D enhances the frame design characteristics by bringing the top headset bearing and the stem closer together, eliminating flex and extending the frame’s rigidity to the stem/handlebar assembly.

ASP-6500 seatpost: an Argon 18 exclusive
o As with the Ga 31 Pro fork, the ASP-6500 seatpost is designed to complement the frame’s qualities.
• Its characteristics complete the frame’s, for a unified feel and appearance, coupled with increased comfort.
• Saddle angle and fore-aft adjustments are effected separately, using two independent mechanisms. One adjustment can be made without affecting the other.
• Diameter: 31.6 mm

6600 HM Nano-Tech carbon composite
o 6600 HM Nano-Tech is the result of a careful analysis of the stresses and loadings each frame section is subjected to. Using this data, we determined the composite content and fiber orientation.
o While 6600 HM contains only very fine fibers, fiber choice and layup vary according to tube shape and diameter, in order to best counter these stresses while eliminating any redundant material.
o The end result is impressive but also rare: on the road, the Gallium Pro seems to have a double personality: at an easy pace, the bike is responsive and predictable, but turn up the power, and its amazing rigidity kicks in and puts the rider into fast forward.
